The salon teatro Avenida de Cantabria (formerly Teatro General Vigón) is one of the landmark theatres offered by the Caja Burgos to the citizens of the town within its social programme (Obra Social), along with the well-known Casa del Cordón situated right at the very heart of historic Burgos.

Located in the privileged position close to the Plaza del Rey and the river Arlanzón, this centre will launch in 2007 new audiovisual equipment, transforming it into a space which can be used for practically any purpose.



In the stalls comprising 450 seats, the Teatro Avenida de Cantabria periodically hosts such cultural activities as contests, competitions, lecture rounds, presentations, theatre groups, projections in 5.1 channel surround sound, to name but a few.

The challenge with regards to the installation was put in the able hands of Seltron S.L., a local company from Burgos with extensive experience in the world of professional audiovisual installation and which had already successfully completed projects of similar scope such as equipping the Centro de Arte Caja Burgos (Caja Burgos Art Centre) with audiovisuals in 2003 (see reference).

As for audio, the solution involves a 5.1 system via the distribution of OHM loudspeaker cabinets, and in this case a LUNARAY line-array for the front channels and BR6 units for the remainder of the channels.

Bass amplification is provided by means of two OHM BR18B units.

DPA power stage lines control the amplification: 5 DPA2000 units and one additional DPA2005T in this case.

In the words of Luis Enrique Heras, Director of Seltron S.L.: “dynamic of the LUNARAY from OHM are served perfectly by the power stages of the DPA2000”.

Along with the audiovisual equipment for the main hall, ECLER also supplied the complementary pro audio equipment in the surrounding common areas of the Teatro Avenida de Cantabria.
